Hypocrisy
Be more concerned with how you look to God than how you look in the mirror.
A hypocrite is a person who pretends to be different from what he or she really is. When Jesus was on Earth, there were no bigger phonies than the religious leaders (the scribes and Pharisees). They portrayed themselves as being holy and righteous because they followed technical rituals (that they made up themselves).
Jesus called them hypocrites because they bragged about their extreme habits of cleanliness, but internally, where it mattered, their motives were evil and filthy. The scribes and Pharisees were concerned only with what other people saw on the outside. They failed to realize that God is interested in what is happening on the inside.
Centuries later, many of us are acting like the first century religious leaders. We put on a good show on the outside, but our thoughts and attitudes are not pleasing to God. We may be able to fool other people, but we can’t fool God.
“You try to look like upright people outwardly, but inside your hearts are filled with hypocrisy and lawlessness.” Matthew 23:28

My name is Kenny Pittman, I am writer who isn’t published, a golfer who isn’t a pro, a minister who doesn’t have a title and an entrepreneur who doesn’t own his own business. However, I maintain there are more lofty goals in life than being famous, perfectly fit, or rich. I enjoy my life, my wife, my family, my friends and have figured out that the small things matter most. And so, I write about it.
I have been married to my lovely wife Sheila for fifteen years. We have six children Kedric, Kendrica, Vincent, Brandon, Veronica, and Shanta. I am a native of Calhoun City, MS. and my wife is a native of Albany GA., we now reside in Indinapolis, IN.
I accepted my calling into the ministry in 1997. At that time I owned a trucking company and in 2005 I sold out and went into ministry full time.
After experiencing institutionalized church and seeing the negtive impact it can have on people my heart became heavy. Church was so different on the inside looking out than it was on the outside looking in. As I saw the focus of the church was on membership and not relationship, on tithes (money) and not being good stewards themselves.
In October, 15 2007 at 9:00AM God showed me something that changed my life. I quit my job in the institutionalized church as a hired hand and resigned my membership to institutionalized church forever. Over the next seven months God allow me to feel what it was like to be crucified by religious people.
After much prayer, fasting and healing from what we call “church hurt”. God is leading me to teach and write about my experiences and help people see God beyond institutionalized church, to really experience the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.
