Rely on God’s Perspective

Sometimes you have to believe it before you can see it.

Since God is sovereign and in control of all things, it’s difficult to understand why He allows some things to happen to us. We aren’t puzzled by “Why does God let bad things happen to good people?” because many of the “good” people don’t believe in Him. But we are perplexed by the question of “Why does He let bad things happen to those of us who love Him?”

Perhaps no one has the complete answer. We may have to wait until heaven for that. In the meantime, let’s remind ourselves that God’s personality traits include love and omniscience. He cannot do anything that is not in the best interests of His children. And He knows everything, so He has the long-term perspective on what we need now to prepare us for the future.

We may not understand it, but we can trust that God knows what he is doing.

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called accoridng to his purpose for them.
