A Teachable Spirit

You’ll never be a “know-it-all” if you try to be more teachable every day.

Your education doesn’t stop when you receive a diploma. Even if you complete your formal schooling, plan to keep learning. And if you never received a diploma, don’t worry–the bulk of what you need to learn for the rest of your life wasn’t taught in a classroom anyway.

Your “lifetime learning” will come from many sources. First, God has plenty to teach you. We predict that you will enjoy reaching deeper levels of understanding as you learn from and about Him. Secondly, you can learn a lot about yourself from your friends (if you are perceptive and receptive to their criticism). And you can learn from young children (your own and others) because their childish responses are similar to how we often behave with God.

There is a lot left to learn if you are willing to be teachable.

Let those who are wise understand these things. Let those who are discerning listen carefully. The paths of the Lord are true and right, and righteous people live by walking in them.
