Use Your Burdens
Don’t pray for a lighter load. Pray for a stronger back.
When you ask God to take away your burdens, you deny yourself the opportunity to grow in your faith. You don’t get smarter by studying less, you don’t get into better shape by becoming inactive, and you don’t grow in your faith by escaping your burdens.
We don’t believe in God because life is easy and we have everything we need. We come to God because we recognize our desperate situation. And once we align ourselves with God personally through Christ, our faith grows because we are aware we need Christ in us to live each day.
You become a Christian by believing that God can save you through Christ. You grow as a Christian by believing that God is allowing the burdens in your life to strengthen you, and that you can overcome them in Christ.
You can be sure that the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.
