Goals

A goal is worthy only if it heads you in the right direction.

Studies have shown that people who set goals are more successful than people who don’t. Whether it is losing weight or saving money, goals encourage people to improve.

The best goal you could ever have is to know God better. All of your energy should be focused on being like Christ–who is the visible image of the invisible God–in your actions and your thoughts. Of course, Christ was perfect, and you will never make it to perfection (in this lifetime). But as you move toward your goal, your life will improve. That doesn’t mean that your life will be trouble-free, but everything else will seem insignificant compared to the indescribable wonder of knowing God and realizing how much He loves you. Now that is a goal worth pursuing. Go for it!

I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven.
