Heartbreak Brings Daybreak

For You do not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it; You are not pleased with burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. Psalm 51:16–17 NASB

In Other Words
Lord, life would be easy if all I had to do to please You was to go through the motions. But action without conviction is like a black hole that robs us of Your pleasure. Lord, shattered pride and a broken heart keeps our relationship with You honest and our acts of worship true. The warmth of Your smile engulfs us as we return Your love without compromise or pretension.

Small Bites
✓ Faking it until we make it doesn’t fool God
✓ God blesses our offerings when we give ourselves to Him first
✓ Pleasing God is not a “check-list” religion
✓ Godly actions done for selfish reasons create godless people
✓ Worshiping God publicly but not privately is like being married while living alone
✓ God notices the small things we do
✓ Actions not from our heart, hardens our heart
✓ True worship begins with the desire to be the person God designed us to be
✓ God hears our praises when He sees purity in our hearts; and when He feels our will melting into His
✓ Our need for holiness drives us from God; but our need for God draws us to holiness
✓ Pride creates self-worship, not God-worship
