Peace With God

The greatest thing about God’s peace is that it gives us peace with Him.

When we talk about peace and war, we can talk about external battles and internal battles, but there is one more battle we can’t ignore: our battle with God. “But wait a minute!” you may be saying. “I’ve got nothing against God. I mind my own business, and I expect Him to do the same.”

Sorry, it doesn’t work that way. While it’s true that God won’t invade our lives unless we invite Him, our relationship with Him isn’t neutral. The Bible says that we are God’s enemies because we are sinners (Romans 5:10). We are at war with God, and that’s a battle we can’t win.

The only way to end the war with God is to raise the white flag of surrender. We have to accept God’s terms for peace, which center on the person and work of Jesus. When we do that, we experience the ultimate peace there is–peace with God.

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.
