Expect to Suffer
It’s better to suffer for Christ than to live without Him.Some people treat God like some kind of insurance policy. They’re not really convinced that they need Him, except when times get tough. That’s when they pull out their insurance policy and read the fine print, hoping they’re covered. In other words, they expect God to protect them from any hardship.
Why should any of us expect to get through this life without suffering? if God did not spare His own Son from suffering to the point of death, who are we to think that we are exempt?
The apostle Paul knew a lot about suffering, and he wrote about it in detail. He was beaten, imprisoned, shipwrecked, jailed, and ostracized (for a complete description, read 2 Cor. 6:5-10). But he never lost hope, because he knew it was better to suffer for Christ than to live without Him.
In everything we do we try to show that we are ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamaties of every kind.
2 Corinthians 6:4
