The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Knowing that God knows everything about us is very comforting. It can also be very unsettling. We can take comfort in the knowledge that God is intimately involved in the details of our lives (Psalm 37:23). If He watches over the lowly sparrow, He watches over us and directs our way.
At the same time, because He is God, He is aware of everthing, including the stuff we’d just as soon hide from Him. God doesn’t cause behavior that contradicts what he wants for us (we do that quite well on our own), but He knows everything we do and think–the good, the bad, and the ugly!
How do you feel about God knowing you completely? If you’re like us, it probably gives you a certain amount of fear. That’s okay, as long as our fear motivates to take Him and His commands seriously.
On the other side of the equation, knowing that God knows us completely–and loves us anyway–should give us a heart of gratitude. Praise God for His mercy and love!
“He reveals the deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he himself is surrounded by light.”
Daniel 2:22
