Practical Peace
You will experience peace when you invite God into the details of your life.
The opposite of peace is war, and that’s exactly what happens in our lives when God’s peace is missing. It isn’t an external war, but a war within us, caused by a combination of sin, fear, doubt and anxiety. We lump all of that stuff together and call it stress, but it’s a little more complicated than that.
We try to manage all these negative forces by controlling the details of our lives. “Don’t worry, I can handle it,” we tell people, but secretly we know our insides are in a knot. None of this is a secret to God. He’s completely aware of all the details. He’s just waiting for us to ask Him to handle them for us. He won’t intrude; we must invite Him to get involved. When we do, He will come to our rescue. When our problems are beyond our ability, He will give us His ability–and His peace.
His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
