Preparing for Battle
Most Christians spend more time getting ready for church than they spend time getting prepared to battle against their greatest enemy.
A good soldier is prepared for warfare. He or she goes into battle with protective battle gear and armed with weapons.
As a Christian, you are engaged in a spiritual battle with Satan, your greatest adversary. Satan is doing everything he can to prevent you from living a victorious life. He wants to deceive, discourage, and distract you from growing closer to God.
You can’t withstand Satan’s attacks by yourself, so God has provided battle gear for your protection and weapons for your use. He wants you to be adequately armed and shielded from the attacks of Satan.
Read about spiritual armor in Ephesians 6:10-18. Notice that there is no protection for your back. You won’t need it. With God on your side, you will never have to run away from Satan in defeat.
Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the Devil.
