Consider your spiritual growth as a process instead of an event.
Spiritual growth doesn’t happen all at once. It is a lifelong process. The reasons should be obvious. First of all, we continue to live in a sinful world (and in sinful bodies) so we’ll never be perfect in our lifetime. But we can make progress, and as we do so, we will be sinning less and less.
Secondly, we continually find ourselves in new situations. If it seems that they become increasingly more difficult, that’s probably true. God uses them to strengthen our faith.
Thirdly, we gain a greater understanding about God as we learn to depend upon Him.
Finally, spiritual growth doesn’t happen all at once because there is so much to learn about God. Even in an entire lifetime we cannot learn all of the mysteries about Him.
The more you grow like this, the more you will become productive and useful in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:8
