God Will Never Leave You

God is in the business of helping, not hurting us.

One of the greatest fears we have is abandonment. As a baby, you probably cried when your mother left the room. As a youngster, you may have been left behind accidentally, or maybe you got separated in a crowd. Although your parents didn’t mean it, you felt abandoned, and the uneasiness remains with you to this day.

As an adult, you don’t fear being abandoned physically as much as you hate the idea of emotional abandonment. None of us wants to be left alone during times of need or crisis, but it happens. You may even feel as though God has abandoned you at times. What you need to realize is that can never happen. It may seem that God is far away at times, but the reality is that He is always right beside you. When those feelings of abandonment come, rest on the promise of God’s Word.

For the Lord does not abandon anyone forever. Though he brings grief, he also shows compassion according to the greatness of his unfailing love. For he does not enjoy hurting people or causing them sorrow.
