Confrontation

Your best friends will be the ones who bring out the best in you.

Friends are quick to compliment each other, but confrontation comes much harder. In fact, many people will choose to avoid confronting a friend with an important issue. (But if you dodge what needs to be done, then you aren’t much of a friend after all.) Although it may be difficult, at times you may have to oppose a friend who is doing something that is clearly wrong.

Do you have a Christian friend whose behavior blatantly defies what Jesus taught? Are you avoiding a confrontation with this friend? If so, pray about how to approach this subject with your friend. Remember to do it in love.

But when Peter cam to Antioch, I had to oppose him publicly, speaking strongly against what he was doing, for it was very wrong (Galatians 2:11).
